This is my first high-poly render using the Blender Cycles rendering engine. I recently switched over to Ubuntu Studio as my primary operating system, so I’ve had good fun compiling my own Blender, Cycles and Nvidia CUDA. One outcome of this project was trying out GPU accelerated rendering, which rendered roughly nine times fast than CPU-based rendering with Cycles. I’m quite happy with the result.
Like many of my images, this one was heavily inspired by a Blender Guru tutorial, although I did quite a lot of extra work on this one.
